Ingredients

For the Creamy Pepper Sauce
  • 1 cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Mixing Bowl For combining the ingredients
  • 1 Small Whisk Creates a smooth, lump-free sauce
  • 1 Measuring Cups & Spoons Accurate measurements
  • 1 Silicone Spatula Scrapes every bit of sauce from the bowl
  • 1 Airtight Container or Mason Jar For chilling and storing
  • 1 Serving Bowl or Squeeze Bottle For serving and easy application

Method

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the freshly cracked black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and cayenne pepper, if using.
  3. Whisk until all of the spices are evenly incorporated and the sauce has a smooth, creamy consistency.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with additional black pepper, vinegar, or salt if needed.
  5. Transfer the sauce to an airtight container or mason jar.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  7. Stir the sauce well before serving to redistribute the seasonings.
  8. Spread on burgers, patty melts, sandwiches, wraps, or serve as a dipping sauce for fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, and grilled vegetables.

Notes

  • Freshly cracked black pepper creates the boldest and most authentic flavor.
  • Full-fat mayonnaise produces the richest, creamiest texture.
  • Chill the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving for the best taste.
  • Adjust the pepper level to suit your preference.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and stir before each use.
